Phulo Jhano Aashirvad Abhiyan is an ambitious initiative of the Government of Jharkhand. To end the evil practice of selling and manufacturing haria and liquor in rural areas, the Rural Development Department has started the Phulo Jhano Aashirvad Abhiyan on the direction of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren. Through this initiative, the rural women associated with the selling and manufacturing of liquor and haria are being provided with alternative, respectable, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
This initiative was launched in September 2020 where the SHG members were given the responsibility of providing assured benefits to every affected family of remote areas through this unique initiative.
In the first phase of the campaign about 15,284 women were identified through door to door survey and around 14,003 women are now living with dignified life through sustainable livelihood provided under this initiative.
The ‘Phulo Jhano Aashirvad Abhiyan’, under which women are provided interest free loan of Rs 10,000, has encouraged many to start their lives afresh and lead a more dignified life. This initiative has started rehabilitating such tribal women by providing them livelihood opportunities and other technical support. Out of the 15,284 women identified across the state, 14,003 have quit the profession and are engaged in other livelihood activities are now earning decent income.
